Position Summary:
The Expansion Assistant Finance Manager (AFM) plays a pivotal role in supporting the company’s international expansion initiatives. This position is responsible for leading new entity incorporations, regulatory licensing, cross-border acquisitions, and post-merger integration across multiple jurisdictions. The role combines strong FP&A expertise with strategic project leadership, regulatory coordination, and multi-country financial planning.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of financial planning, regulatory processes, and cross-border operations. They must be capable of managing complex multi-market projects, collaborating closely with global stakeholders, and delivering high-quality financial insights to guide expansion decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Global Entity Incorporation & Regulatory Setup
Lead end-to-end incorporation of new entities across targeted countries based on business expansion strategies.
Manage all interactions with Company Secretaries, external lawyers, consultants, and local regulators.
Oversee documentation, compliance filings, and statutory setup required before initiating operations
Ensure all legal, tax, and regulatory prerequisites are fully completed within agreed timelines
2.Licensing & Regulatory Compliance
Drive the full lifecycle of obtaining industry-specific licenses in new jurisdictions.
Coordinate the preparation of all supporting materials including business plans, financial projections, and compliance documents required for regulatory submissions.
Maintain detailed knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and ensure continuous compliance post-approval.
Track and manage the renewal, amendment, or upgrade of licenses as required.
3. Mergers, Acquisitions & Post-Merger Integration
Support the assessment and evaluation of potential acquisition targets aligned with international expansion strategies.
Participate in financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and deal structuring in coordination with FP&A Manager and CFO.
Lead post-merger integration activities—financial consolidation, reporting alignment, cost structure migration, and process streamlining.
Serve as a primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external legal/regulatory bodies during M&A cycles.
4. Financial Forecasting & Market Feasibility
Build comprehensive financial forecasts for all new markets under consideration.
Develop scenario models for revenue, operating costs, capital requirements, and profitability for each target country.
Present financial insights and market feasibility assessments to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
Continuously update forecasts based on regulatory changes, market intelligence, and operational updates.
5. Expansion Cost Planning & Budget Management
Prepare detailed cost models for market entry including incorporation fees, licensing costs, staffing, compliance, legal, operational and infrastructure expenses.
Work closely with procurement, HR, legal, technology, and business units to validate assumptions and finalize cost plans.
Track expansion budget utilization and ensure adherence to approved financial controls.
Present variance analyses and cost optimization recommendations during reviews.
6. Leadership, Team Management & Cross-Functional Coordination
Guide and supervise junior members involved in FP&A and expansion-related activities.
Provide clear direction, allocate tasks, and review outputs for quality and accuracy.
Collaborate closely with internal teams including Legal, Compliance, Operations, HR, and the CFO Office to ensure smooth execution of cross-border projects.
Demonstrate strong leadership presence and the ability to influence stakeholders across different functions and countries.
7. FP&A Support & Core Managerial Responsibilities
Contribute to monthly reporting, budgeting cycles, forecasting updates, and business reviews.
Conduct variance analyses, financial performance assessments, and cost efficiency evaluations.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and FP&A best practices.
Maintain structured expansion trackers, country-wise dashboards, and project documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience & Qualifications :
Minimum 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial planning, budgeting, or corporate finance.
Demonstrated experience in international expansion, regulatory coordination, licensing processes, or M&A is strongly preferred.
Experience in managing multi-country projects and dealing with external lawyers, regulators, and corporate secretaries.
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional certifications (CA, ACCA, CMA, CFA) are an advantage.
