How a Global Trading Platform Scaled Payment Operations Across Malaysia and Indonesia

Business Challenge
The client operates a high-volume trading platform with customers across Malaysia and Indonesia. As transaction demand scaled, their payment infrastructure became a limiting factor.
Key pressure points included:
Collections concentrated across a narrow set of acquiring partners, creating single-point dependency on both collections and settlement
Inconsistent success rates across payment channels
Payout operations that could not scale reliably along with transactional growth
Fragmented, manual reconciliation across multiple payment methods, that did not match the pace of their operations
They needed a payment infrastructure layer that could handle significantly higher volume across two markets, without compromising reliability or operational visibility.
Why Mobi
The client required simultaneous coverage across Malaysia and Indonesia, spanning both collection and disbursement. A single-market provider would not meet that requirement.
Mobi's direct connections to local payment networks across both markets, combined with multi-host routing capability across 10+ banking and payment partners, made it the right fit. The ability to centralizemonitoring and reconciliation across all channels was equally important for a client operating at this transaction scale.
Implementation Highlights
Mobi deployed a multi-product, multi-host payment stack across both markets.
On the collections side, the client was enabled across six payment methods: FPX (Online Banking), Touch 'n Go, Virtual Accounts, QRIS, and BCA Virtual Accounts. This covered the primary digital payment methods used by their customer base in Malaysia and Indonesia.
On the payout side, Mobi connected the client to a network of banking and payment partners including PayNet, M1 Pay, AmBank, Curlec, Boost, LinkQu, Nobu, and Harsya, enabling reliable fund disbursement and merchant settlement at scale.
Multi-host routing was implemented across 10+ partners, reducing dependency on any single acquiring relationship and improving channel resilience across both markets.
Centralized payment monitoring and reconciliation gave the client a unified view across all transaction activity, replacing the fragmented, manual processes that had previously created operational overhead.
Post-Implementation Outcomes
Performance was measured comparing operations up to Q3 2025 against Q4 2025 onwards.
Transaction Volume Growth: Total transaction volume grew by 139% following full infrastructure deployment.
Successful Transaction Growth: Successful transaction count grew by 151%, reflecting improvement in both volume processed and processing quality.
Success Rate Improvement: Overall transaction success rate improved by 4.33 percentage points. Virtual Account success rates reached 98.9%, and payout success rates reached 96.9%.
Gross Payment Volume Growth: Gross Payment Volume grew by 226% quarter-over-quarter.
Revenue and Margin Growth: Revenue grew by 133% and margin grew by 129%.
Payment Channel Coverage: Six payment methods integrated across two markets. Multi-host routing across 10+ banking and payment partners eliminated single-point dependency on collections and settlement.
Operational Efficiency: Centralized transaction monitoring and reconciliation reduced manual processing overhead and improved merchant settlement operations across both markets.
Support and Partnerships
Mobi provided dedicated account management throughout the deployment and post-integration phases. The multi-host partner network across PayNet, AmBank, Curlec, Boost, LinkQu, Nobu, Harsya, and others ensured that routing could be optimized across partners based on performance, reducing failure rates over time.
The client continues to operate on Mobi's infrastructure across both Malaysia and Indonesia.
